COACH of Orlando Pirates, Abdeslam Ouaddou, came out and admitted the heartache for him and many connected with this team from Soweto, because of their favorite, Relebohile Mofokeng, who will run in the Belgian Pro League.

Mofokeng got greener pastures from Royale Union Saint-Gilliose of Belgium who bought him from Zimnyama for a sum estimated at R65.3 million. There are reports that he will earn R1.7 million per month in this team that will qualify to play in the UEFA Champions League. Mofokeng signed a four-year contract.

It is obvious to almost everyone who follows Mzansi football that Mofokeng’s getting this opportunity to grow will also be useful for Bafana Bafana.

Mofokeng played a major role in the success of Pirates who won the Betway Premiership title after 14 years. There is no question that this has caused a lot of blood for Bucs fans.

Ouaddou wrote on his social media page thanking Mofokeng and that’s where he expressed his heartache over the departure of this player who was not a drop in the bucket for him.

“The most difficult thing to say goodbye to is those who have been leaving for a long time and have done miracles for the team that are not easy to leave the minds of those connected with it (the team). Thank you to Mofokeng for all the important goals he scored for us and created while he was with us. Thank you for making us smile even without saying anything. When Mofokeng smiles everyone around him does the same. That is how he was created,” said Ouaddou.

“He came to Pirates as a promising little boy, but he left after starting to build a reputation for himself that would make him one of the greats one day.

“Our hearts are broken by his departure, we will not hide that but we are also proud that he passed through the hands of this honorable team.

“Good luck to the President of 2K. Go show the world how high your level is. There is everything, I hope you will not forget for a single day that you have a home in Orlando Pirates.”

Pirates are under pressure to wipe away the tears of their fans who shed Nandi’s when they were kicked out early in the Caf Champions League last season. In addition, it has a yoke to protect the winning trophies.
