THE AUTHOR of the book The Polygamist, Sue Nyathi has revealed that this book is currently in the news for many, after it was turned into a game it was refused to be sold in many places.
Sue, who is originally from Zimbabwe, said that she published the book in 2012, and that she recently agreed if they wanted to turn it into a game.
He was talking like this on his page on Instagram, where he was expressing happiness with the excitement shown by the people when the game The Polygamist with 22 episodes came out on Netflix.
Sue said that she was still taking chances by letting the book be turned into a game because of losing hope.
“I ended up independent because, what I wanted was to write a book and get help to have it produced and sold. But now, after taking chances, I agreed to make it into a game that is one of the best games on Netflix in Africa,” said Sue.
In this first play of the series, the leading role is uSdumo Mtshali is a successful businessman who plays the role of Jonasi Gomora.
In this business he is partnered with his wife Joyce Gomora and the place is modeled after Gugu Gumede.
Other actors include Celeste Ntuli, Kwanele Mthethwa, Luyanda Zwane, Kenneth Nkosi, Wonder Ndlovu and Noluthando Shabalala.
Sue said that in the 13 years this book has been available, this is her success that she will never forget since the game is integrated by the big company Netflix when it comes to distribution.
“I am grateful to Stained Glass Productions for making this play as it turns out that it is the biggest of the local plays they have ever produced. I am thankful to its director Akin Omotoso who turned the book into a play. My book, which I thought was small, has done wonders for me, now I am known overseas,” he said.
This game caused a lot of noise on social media, as it showed how wealthy men behave at work, in society and in their families.
He highlighted a man who has money and sleeps with different women because of the power he feels he has.
