Zodumo from Folweni, Durban, but now based in Pietermaritzburg, says so after winning the Mrs Golden Stars modeling competition, which was held at the Blue Waters Hotel, Durban on Saturday.
In this competition, organized by Ziyanda Mogoje’s Zipho Ziyanda Foundation, Zodumo walked away with five titles which are Mrs Golden Stars Queen 2026, Public Choice, Social Media Queen, Overall Charity Queen and Ambassador Queen.
“I hope that this will encourage women who raise children alone like me not to throw in the towel on life, and that giving birth and the difficulty of raising a child alone – will not stop them from achieving the good things they desire,” said Zodumo.
Continuing, she said that although she is not so focused on modeling as her daughter Yezulu (11) is very focused in this field, she felt it was good to enter this competition because she saw that it was open to married, divorced and pregnant women like her – she saw it as a good opportunity to highlight every woman.
“Now I hope that I will build on winning this competition to look for other beauty opportunities, especially those related to fashion and fashion advertising because these are the things I am strongest in, and I hope that it will encourage other women like me to pursue their dreams,” she said.
He also thanked his daughter for supporting him and training him in modeling techniques, which helped him prepare for the competition easily as he was doing the preparations together with her at home.
He encouraged other parents to support their children in their dreams and their different abilities so that they grow up secure and motivated to do good.
