DHL Stormers and Vodacom Bulls will represent South Africa in the semi-finals of the United Rugby Championship (URC) following their convincing quarter-final wins at home separately last weekend.

Fidelity Lions were unlucky in the South in the quarter-finals and met the mares moving to Leinster in Ireland, where they were disgraced in Dublin.

In another match of this category played on Friday, Scotland’s defending champions Glasgow Warriors easily eliminated Ireland’s Connacht.

All these results mean that the Bulls will head to Scotland to face the champion Warriors in the first semi-final match on Saturday at 3.30 pm, at Murryfield Stadium, Edinburgh.

On the same day as the Stormers will be represented by their yoke since they will be welcomed by Leinster at 6.30 pm at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.

The Bulls showed signs of strength from the start of the game as evidenced by their convincing 45-14 win on Saturday afternoon.

This Bulls’ win of six tries to two in Munster clearly shows the strength of this team which has continued its unbeaten record in the URC this season.

It was the seventh game in a row for this team at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, without knowing a stick in URC.

This was followed by a win for the Stormers in Cape Town, although the game was not that easy as Cardiff from Wales fought with all their might.

Although it was Cardiff who fell first in line, but the Stormers players including Ntuthuko Mchunu, it was as if they were plastered after that.

This team from Cape Town did not lower the level from the start of the game to the end.

Two news for the Stormers is the injury of Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu who will not play the semi-final leg.

The Lions, who were the only ones from the South who were on the road this weekend, were beaten by Leinster 59-10.

The Lions, who started to progress to the playoffs in this competition with the Hollywoodbets Sharks, which is a shame that they are not part of the competition due to the strength of their squad, have to absorb the Stormers and Bulls to continue to establish the reputation of South African rugby in this competition.
