The fear of human jobs being lost on a large scale due to Artificial Intelligence (AI) was spread all over the world, the truth about which was revealed several weeks ago by Sridhar Vembu of Zoho. Interestingly, now Sam Altman and Jeff Bezos have also changed their opinion regarding AI.

Laying off in the name of AI is completely wrong… Sridhar Vembu had already revealed the secrets of companies, now Sam Altman and Bezos also agreed.
AI: Over the past few years, big tech companies have invested billions in AI infrastructure, investors have poured money into startups, and executives have repeatedly warned employees to be prepared for their jobs being lost to AI. But where many tech leaders like Sam Altman are now starting to consider these claims wrong. At the same time, Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu had started raising questions about the jobs of humans being lost due to AI several weeks ago.

Retrenchment is happening in the name of AI by mistake

Over the past few weeks, Vembu has repeatedly criticized the AI craze on X. He said that the actual increase in productivity is very little and companies are easily doing layoffs in the name of AI. They are just using it to fire people, whereas in reality the reason for layoffs is economic pressure and investors’ expectations.

These things of his were not given much attention. But now Sam Altman, CEO of AI companies like OpenAI, as well as many big tech leaders like Jeff Bezos and Jensen Huang have recently started to change their opinions about layoffs due to AI.

Question was raised on AI

  1. Vembu had raised the question on May 19, 2026, why many people in America, especially college students, are no longer liking AI, even though this technology is being shown as a revolutionary change. According to Vembu, companies are doing layoffs unfairly in the name of AI.
  2. He wrote on X that it is not right at all that companies are blaming AI for job losses. This is an easy excuse for them. He also warned that economic conditions around the world are becoming weak and AI alone cannot solve these problems.
  3. In another post shared on May 14, he talked about what he called the “developer productivity paradox.”
  4. These words of Vembu are now getting more people’s attention because some of those tech giants have started accepting his words as true, who had earlier cited AI as the reason for large-scale job cuts and had issued warnings for it.

Now Sam Altman also changed his opinion

  • Sam Altman has just admitted that his initial fears about AI replacing entry-level white-collar jobs have not come true as much as he hoped.
  • Speaking at a conference hosted by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Sydney, Altman said he expected many more jobs to have been lost after ChatGPT.
  • Altman said that I am happy that I was proved wrong in this matter.

Amazon CEO said this

  • Similarly, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos recently argued that AI would only improve the productivity of most workers, rather than completely replace humans.
  • Speaking to CNBC, Bezos said that AI can automate some tasks, but humans will still be needed for creativity, decision making and solving problems.
  • Apart from this, while talking about the work to be done with the help of AI, Bezos said that this work will be done with bulldozers instead of shovels.

Nvidia CEO criticized

  • Meanwhile, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang directly criticized executives who blame AI for the layoffs.
  • In an interview with Singapore broadcaster CNA, Huang said that I think the view of CEOs who are linking AI with job losses is very lazy. According to Huang, some companies may simply be using AI to justify their restructuring or cost-cutting decisions.
  • This clearly shows that Vembu had already anticipated the thoughts and ideas that the big tech giants are now putting forth, but no one paid attention to them at that time.
