Chairman and coach of Milford FC, Xanti Pupuma, has made his wish to see two KwaZulu-Natal teams face off in the finals of the Nedbank Cup, Xanti Pupuma, whose team will face TS Galaxy in the semi-finals.

Milford will play away to Galaxy at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, KwaMhlanga, on Sunday at 3 pm.

Durban City will host Casric Stars in one of the first matches at Chatsworth Stadium, Durban, on Saturday at 3 pm.

Milford and Casric are playing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, and they are currently competing against the teams in the competition for the league title of this division which feeds into the Betway Premiership.

Commenting on facing the Galaxy, Pupuma thinks it might be a charm for him to go against a team he believes he knows nothing about.

“We have seen how they play. They play with pressure, but that is something we cannot resist.

I don’t think they know much about us. So I hope that the Gods of football will look after us,” said Pupuma while speaking to the media at the Mhlathuze Sports Complex.

Pupuma does not hide his urge to face City if it happens to bring dust to the Galaxy in their barn at Solomon Mahlagu on Sunday.

“I know that I have said before that I see Milford and Casric in the final. But in truth, deep in my heart, my desire is to see the KZN teams play in the final.

If that happens, I have no doubt that we will fill Moses Mabhida (Stadium) and show people that it should not be Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns that should fill the stadiums.”

It has become history that Casric and Milford knocked down trusted Premiership teams on their way to the semi-finals.

Milford knocked Sekhukhune United to their knees in the quarterfinals, Casric burned AmaZulu FC’s shirt, and before that Orlando Pirates fell to the ground.
