The popular musical We for you is back on the shelves after years.
Bok van Blerk will play the role of gen. Koos de la Rey plays, while Nadia Beukes will stand in the shoes of Nonnie de la Rey, Koos’ wife.
The production, originally written by Deon Opperman and Sean Else, was staged at the State Theater in Pretoria in 2008, 2009 and 2012. At the time, Rouel Beukes was in the role of De la Rey, with Michelle Botha, Jannie Moolman, Marisa Drummond and the late Paul Lückhoff on stage with him.
At the time, Nadia herself was seen with her father, Rouel, as part of the ensemble. She therefore considers this version of the production to be a full-circle moment in her career.
Johan Vorster, who years ago was also responsible for the music in the production, will handle it again, this time together with his partner at Inhoud Huis Musiek, Jacomien de Wet. Jannes Erasmus, writer and director of productions such as The vow in The headlinedirects.
Jacques Broodryk, Rico Immelman, Anika de Beer, Carl Trautman, Révan Luüs and Zöricke Snyman can also be seen in the musical.
- We for you will be shown at the AfriForum Theater in Pretoria from 29 April. Get your tickets here.
