THE CASE involving the Commissioner of Police, General Fannie Masemola, has been adjourned to May 13 after appearing at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

When he returns, he is expected to appear with a businessman followed by Mr. Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and 12 policemen. They are all facing charges related to the R360 million tender awarded to Matlala in 2024.

Masemola is facing charges related to alleged violations of the Public Finance Management Act.

12 police officers, accused of participating in the case, are facing charges including fraud, money laundering and violation of currency laws.

Police officers were previously granted bail of between R40 000 and R80 000 respectively.

All the suspects will appear together in court as the State prepares to move forward with the case.
