An international manhunt was launched on Wednesday for a British man suspected of murdering his wife and two young daughters, after which he apparently fled to Zimbabwe.
The police have identified the suspect as 45-year-old Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, who is known as Mark.
Tshuma, a British citizen of Zimbabwean descent, is said to have left the country on Saturday from Heathrow Airport in London with a British passport.
The bodies of his wife, Zandile Tshuma (42), and their two daughters, Natalie (15) and Nala (5), were found in the family’s luxury home on Monday. The house is located in an affluent suburb of Bedford in central England.
Local police visited the residence after concerns were raised about the family’s well-being.
Detective Lee Martin told reporters that they are aware that Tshuma left the country on Saturday and that he is believed to be currently in Zimbabwe. Martin made an earnest appeal to Tshuma to hand himself over to the authorities.
Martin also warned Tshuma that the police are working closely with national and international agencies to follow up on every possible lead to track him down.
According to media reports, Tshuma operated a real estate business called Nexus Trove Holdings out of his home.
