KING Malusi Zondi has revealed that he will give priority to black youth, especially those who have degrees but are unemployed, so that they can find employment opportunities.
He said this yesterday when he was given an official certificate to be the King of the King in different hostels, the Minister of Governance in Cooperation with Indigenous Leadership, KwaZulu-Natal, Rev. Thulasizwe Buthelezi.
The event was held at the department’s government offices in Mayville, Durban.
King Zondi will be the King of the Beast at Mbelebeleni Palace, KwaMashu.
Zondi said that the people he will prioritize in this work given to him by the youth, he wants employment opportunities to be opened.
“I want to bring together the unemployed youth with degrees so that it can be seen first of all how many there are. What we have to do now. We encourage the employment of young people and the return of industries to our province so that young people can have job opportunities,” said Zondi.
He said development must come from trained people, who can do different jobs.
“We will not allow foreigners to interfere when it comes to the jobs of our youth. We will not allow foreigners to look down on our youth, I will make sure that the industries come back as they have a very positive impact on creating job opportunities,” he said.
Buthelezi said Zondi will do different things related to looking at the people and the problems that exist in these areas.
He said that in the hostels in Durban and Johannesburg, if the chiefs want to convey a message to the Royal House, they will contact Zondi.
“The people in the hostels are the King’s people, so if they are not taken care of, that will cause criminals to come and say they were sent by the elder and do unauthorized things. So the chiefs now know where they have to report,” said Buthelezi.
This happened just last week and many people were confused by Zondi being stripped of his position as Chancellor.
But it soon emerged that he would be given another position after the Chancellor’s office at the Royal Palace was closed.
