THE COACH of Kaizer Chiefs, Cedric Kaze, hopes that they will put a yoke on the managers with the decision they have to make about who will cook this Naturena team next season.

Chiefs lost 1-0 to Chippa United in the last match of the Betway Premiership season at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, on Saturday. Sammy Seabi scored the winning goal of the Kings’ event in the second half.

The Chiefs who entered the field are already sure that no team will move them to third place in the Premiership log, giving a chance to young players such as goalkeeper Takalani Mazhamba and striker, Naledi Hlongwane, who were playing in the DStv Diski Challenge. Next season, Amakhosi will represent South Africa in the Caf Confederation Cup with Durban City who are the champions of the Nedbank Cup.

On the field, the Chiefs players were playing freely since they were under no pressure to win the game. On Chippa’s side it was very different as they had to fight not to fall in the Play Offs which could have put them in trouble for the ax. The Chiefs had chances to be counted on when Hlongwane crossed in the fifth minute of the game, coming out alone but Chippa’s defenders ended up missing him before he could kick.

Chippa has risen from the eggs, creating dangerous opportunities. In the 33rd minute, Seabi cut in the ball from Sinoxolo Kwayiba on the left. After this goal, he tried to score some more but in the end it was not possible.

What is being looked at now in the Chiefs, is the decision on the coach who will lead it next season. The Kings management announced at the beginning of the season after the dismissal of Nasreddine Nabi that Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef will play until the end of the season.

After the game on Saturday, Kaze, who was full of confidence, said that the results they got speak for them. Under them, Chiefs finished in third place on the log, securing a place in Nedbank. In addition, it collected more than 50 points, which is the number that finally eluded the league title under Ernst Middendorp in the 2019/2020 season.

“I hope that we have made it difficult for the management to make a decision about our future in the team. Next week, we will submit the season report to the board and the management of the team, then it will be discussed,” said Kaze.
