Four Pretorians would start an extraordinary march on Wednesday to draw attention to a crisis that often goes unnoticed – the mental health of South African farmers.
The team planned to tackle the entire South African coastline on jet skis from March 11 to 27; a distance of 2,786 km.
With the project, they want to stimulate the conversation about the immense pressure farmers are currently under and create greater awareness about farmers’ mental health.
On Wednesday, however, the sea was too rough to leave safely.
“The waves are too fierce,” they said.
They hope to start the trip on Thursday once conditions improve.
