Not long after Kruger United was promoted to the Betway Premiership, there has been a complaint from the players of this team about not being paid as the month of June is starting to rush and they have not received their salaries for the month of May.

It has become history that Kruger joined their hosts, TS Galaxy, in the Premiership after winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the 2025/2026 season.

It is a country was contacted by one of Kruger’s players who asked not to be named, who revealed that they still haven’t received their salaries for May, which is the month the team won the Motsepe Championship trophy along with a check of R5 million.

“It has been the third week now that we are waiting for our salaries at the end of May, we keep being told that we should not wait a little longer, the chairman (Bongani Wati) is still having a problem, the money will be deposited tomorrow, and it will not come in until today.

We are worried because we have needs, some of us are the breadwinners at home, we are being watched. Now that this time has come without salary, we are struggling with our families,” said the worried player.

As for the non-salary of the players, the Bushbuckridge club issued a statement on Monday denying reports that it is being sold. It also denied that it spent a number of players, including Kagiso Malinga, Khethukuthula Ndlovu, Celimpilo Ngema, George Lata, Kabelo Siriba and Philasande Manqele who was on loan from Richards Bay FC.

When the player was asked about the rumors of the sale of the team, he said he knew nothing.

“We have not been told anything by the management about the sale of the team, we also see in the papers and on social media. However, we will not know because our management does not have the truth either.

And on the side of the players who are dismissed by the team, I have no information. I think that is between each player and the team management about his future in the team,” he said.

Contacted by this newspaper on Wednesday morning, Elasto Kapowezha, who is the Sporting Director of the club, promised to speak to the reporter in the afternoon, but ended up not returning to it as promised.

Even yesterday, Thursday, he was sent a WhatsApp message reminding him of his promise to return to the journalist, but he did not respond until it was too late to publish the story.
