THE ORGANIZATION that pays the grants is the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), stated that it does not pay allowances on weekends, Mondays or holidays. The organization said it does not pay the allowances even on the first day of the month.

He said this after releasing the list of grant payment dates until the end of this year, following an agreement with the Treasury Department. Sassa said it always pays grants on separate days.

“The allowance for the elderly is paid first, followed by those living with disabilities, and then child support. If the day of payment of the allowance is on a weekend or holiday, the money will come in the next day,” said Sassa.

Sassa revealed this as next month there will be Easter holidays in the country. It revealed that the allowance for the elderly will be paid on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Those living with disabilities will be paid after Easter, on April 7. The children’s allowance will be paid on April 8.

Sassa also announced good news for those who receive grants as they will increase from next month. The increase in grants was announced by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Enoch Godongwana, when he presented the country’s budget in February, in Parliament.

The allowance for the elderly and those living with disabilities will be increased by R80 to R2 400. The allowance for the military will increase to R2 420. Foster Care will increase by R40 to R1 290, and the cost allowance will increase by R20 to R580.

Sassa urged people not to rush to withdraw money because once it is there, it will not go anywhere. It also instructed those who will have a problem of not getting money not to wait but to donate to the offices of this unit to find out the reasons for not getting paid.

Another thing that was emphasized is that they must make sure that their information is correct and they can call the following number: 0800 60 10 11 to benefit us.
