SHAUWN “MaMkhize” Mkhize, who was the chairman of Royal AM who was expelled from the Premier Soccer League (PSL), has revealed that it is time for him to restart in Swat, where he is in charge of Mbabane Highlanders AM FC.

This official was hit by problems related to the tax payer, Sars in Mzansi, and ended up failing to lead the players of Royal AM. This team ended up not going to play games, and ended up being expelled from the PSL.

After that, MaMkhize moved to Swat, where he is the manager of Highlanders, one of the biggest teams in the country. After the season in which he was its president, he opened up saying that he came here with a broken heart because of what happened to him in South Africa. He spoke to this newspaper at the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup, in Ndini, at the weekend. The Highlanders were invited to the tournament.

“The love I get in Swatini is indescribable. Actually, I think it helped me to go to Swatini, it didn’t heal me. I went there with pain in my spirit, my heart is aching. I came to Swatini and they showed me love, I forgot, the pain stopped, I started to be able to think, I realized that I should come back and do what I do best.

“In the world, if you hold back, you block opportunities. You close the doors to opportunities. I don’t know why I went to Swat, but there is a reason. I won’t be able to achieve that if I keep holding on to what’s happening here. I need to leave behind what happened to me, focus my mind on Swat so I can achieve what I want to achieve. Swatini is like a blank page, I can write any story I want to write. That’s what I want to do.”

In Ma Mkhize’s first season in charge of the Highlanders, he did not receive a trophy. Last week, the team hired a coach, Floyd Mogale who was at Mamelodi Sundowns. He replaced Selaotse “Sly” Mosala whose contract was not renewed.

“When I arrive, I don’t even want to add to the number. I want to compete. I came last season drunk, in pain. This year I am in good shape, I want to compete, I don’t want to add to the number. Mbabane Highlanders AM FC is not a small team, it is one of the biggest teams in Swat. My job is very big, my yoke is very big but I will try with everything to show that I will fight.”
