Bafana Bafana stopper Thabang Matuludi, who has been in competition for two seasons, is reportedly being contested by Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

It has been a long time since Matuludi (27) of Polokwane City is wanted by the Betway Premiership giants.

Matuludi’s prominence in previous seasons led to him getting a place in Bafana who played in the World Cup.

Before that, Hugo Broos accompanied him to the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Morocco last year.

According to Matuludi, Polokwane had given him a longer break than others since he was in the national team but he decided to come back early so that the start of the new season will find him ready.

The player was speaking to the media during the launch of the Mafori Cup in Polokwane.

“Without being arrogant, it should be expected that a national team player who also appears on the field in all his team’s matches should have many goals,” said Matuludi.

“I am not in a position to elaborate on my future because I have no knowledge. The issue of my future does not only affect me and those responsible for my affairs, but there are also groups.

“At the moment I’m in Polokwane, so I have to behave like a player and then I’ll talk about what’s going to happen when it happens.”

Mafori Cup will be played for the first time this year. Limpopo teams playing in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) namely Polokwane, Sekhukhune United, Venda FC and Magesi FC will compete against each other.
