MANY PEOPLE often see a doctor when they are sick or something is wrong with their body, which can be a problem because if you wait until you have symptoms of a certain disease, you may see the damage before you do it.
This is what the chief executive officer of Affinity Health, Mr. Murray Hewlett, advises and warns people about the dangers of not being diligent in visiting doctors to ensure that everything is always in the right condition in their body.
Hewlett said this from the celebration of World Health Day on April 7. He said it is important for people to start now to get used to visiting their doctors even if nothing is wrong.
“Doing so helps to quickly identify health problems lurking in your face, helps to reduce the potential damage, and also helps to keep you healthy. So we encourage people to get used to doing so at least once a year to make sure that there is nothing that hinders their health,” said Hewlett.
What’s the point of constantly checking yourself?
When you check, you can see the problem that lurks before it becomes serious, and it makes you see how you should live to avoid things and certain ways of living that may be harmful to your life. Many conditions and diseases that are serious and dangerous to human health, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes and certain cancers are often seen to be high in the blood, so it can help you to prevent them early if you are diligent about checking them.
The World Health Organization has revealed that diseases including heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes kill 74% of people in the world. However, the good thing is that most of them can be controlled and avoided if they are caught early in the blood. There is no way to do that other than to constantly check if everything is still going well in the blood.
What are the dangers of ignoring your body?
- Some problems attack silently: The problem is that not all conditions and diseases that hinder your body show themselves immediately. High blood pressure disease is one of the diseases that often hides in a person in that way, so if you are not diligent to check your body, you are putting yourself at risk of suffering from such and other conditions.
- You can find out late that you have cancer: There are different health tests including mammogram, pap smear, prostate assessment and colorectal screening which help to find out early if you are suspected of having cancer, in some cases it can even detect its normal symptoms before they appear. So if you don’t check your body often you are putting yourself at risk of getting cancer.
- High health care costs: Scheduling an appointment with your doctor at least once a year can be much more expensive than finding yourself so sick that you need to be rushed to the hospital for treatment. So if you don’t check yourself, you often risk paying a lot of money when you try to treat the illness that will have overtaken you.
- Negative impact on your daily life: Untreated health problems can seriously affect your body and your health as some of them make you tired, have constant pain and it is difficult to walk on your own, sometimes even mentally enslaved. All of that can be avoided by paying attention to your health in general.
What is done when you go to the doctor?
- Just a full body check to see if everything is okay.
- Measurement of blood pressure in your body.
- A blood test to check for abnormalities.
- Your body measurement is checked to see if it is safe.
- It is tested in a way that is appropriate for your age.
- Check to see if there is anything you need to be vaccinated against.
Who should prioritize testing?
In general, the examination is important for everyone even if you feel healthy and have no problems with your body, especially for those aged 20 to 30 because it helps them to have a specific way of life to avoid health problems when they are older.
