It is expected that the Chairman of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislative Assembly, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba, who died on Saturday, after being hit by a car, will be buried in KwaGrace area, Nquthu.

This was revealed by the family spokesperson, Ms. Nondumiso Mahlaba, who is the younger sister of the deceased.

The funeral will be held at the Anglican church in Grace,” said Ms. Mahlaba.

He stated that they are very grateful for all the words of condolence they have been receiving as a family.

He said it comforts them as a family to see people coming from all over the world to comfort them.

Dr. Zweli Mkhize, one of the leaders of the ANC, said that Mahlaba’s death shocked them a lot as she was one of the young leaders that they looked up to.

“He was a leader and we were looking for him to be one of the great leaders in our party ANC. He was active in the party’s organizations, he was presentable, he listened and he liked to go to the community. The way he did things, recently it was as if he was in a hurry to go there and give to the community. We mourn a lot with his family, his wife Ma Ndlovu, mother Ma Ndebele and all his sisters,” said Mkhize.

Mr. Bheki Mtolo who was the secretary of the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal, who also worked with Mahlaba, said that they were shocked by Mahlaba’s death.

“We mourn even more with the local community in ward 20 for the loss of their leader, who cared a lot about the community. We sympathize with my grandmother who used to bring them Christmas at the end of the year. We in the group are very sad since I first got to know her, we are all under the ANC youth, and she is doing a lot to develop the group,” said Mtolo.

At Mahlaba yesterday, different leaders from the Legislative Assembly came, including those from the DA, EFF, MK and IFP.
