It appears that the body of the deceased was found lying in Lovu with gunshot wounds. It is suspected that he was attacked by some people.

KwaZulu Natal police spokesperson, Lieutenant Paul Magwaza confirmed the killing of Gumede.

”His body was found with gunshot wounds in Lovu. The Makhutha police opened a case of murder. The reason for his killing was not yet known,” he said.

Gumede owned a construction company called The Bhiva. The killing of Gumede has left many people in the area depressed and unable to understand why he was killed.
