Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, focused on his critics following South Africa’s history of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, insisting that the victory over South Korea is the perfect answer to the pressure that has been plaguing them.

Bafana won 1-0 on Thursday morning, a result that saw South Africa advance to the 32-team stage for the first time in the nation’s history. The victory came after a close look at Broos and his technique following the defeat to hosts Mexico earlier in the tournament.

The Belgian tactician faced a lot of criticism for his decision to change plans in the first game against the way the team usually plays and there were many complaints about the selection of the team and the way they played. After watching his team play under a lot of pressure in Monterrey, Broos made it clear that he feels vindicated.

“I’m very proud of my team and I think we gave a good answer to all those who were talking a lot last week who wanted us to change things and wanted to tell us what to do. We did what we wanted to do and this is the result. I’m happy with my team.” Broos said after the game.
