Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating a case of murder after a female police officer was shot and killed by what is believed to be her boyfriend on Tuesday night.
It is said that the deceased was on leave from work staying at the house of her boyfriend who is a constable in the Crime Intelligence Unit in Hammersdale when she was killed.
The boyfriend was rushed to the hospital with an injury to his stomach, the cause of which is not yet clear. Although the cause is unknown, SAPS says domestic violence can occur.
It is believed that the two had an argument before the incident. Although the cause of this incident is unknown, the suspicions of violence related to domestic violence cannot be dismissed,” said Robert Netshiunda, KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson.
