A 31-year-old woman has been remanded in custody after appearing at Orkney Magistrates’ Court in connection with the murder of her 44-year-old boyfriend.
It is reported that on Thursday, July 2, at approximately 03:00, the Kanana police received a report of a case of domestic violence in Kanana. When he arrived, it is said that the suspect, who is the deceased’s girlfriend, had an argument with her boyfriend where he is said to have stabbed her with a knife.
After this incident, it is said that the suspect ran away to their home. The police followed him there, and he led them to the place where the body of a 44-year-old man was found lying outside with stab wounds to the neck.
Emergency personnel confirmed that the victim died at the scene. The suspect, Lehohang Felicia Shuping, was arrested and charged with murder.
He appeared before Orkney Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 July 2026. The case was adjourned to Monday, 6 July 2026, for a formal bail application, and the suspect remains in custody.
