The police team that was established according to the recommendations of the Madlanga Commission arrested a Captain who works at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on charges of violating the law.
The suspect was arrested on Friday, where he lives in Pretoria following an investigation by the team.
His arrest coincides with allegations of violations of the law in several high-profile murder cases currently being investigated and evidence before the Madlanga Commission.
During the operation, the team seized a number of government assets, including bullet reports, a large number of bullets and other evidence relevant to the investigation.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 25 May 2026.
