MQANSA, who represents Orlando Pirates to defend three titles, including the Betway Premiership, does not see Tsepang Moremi as one of the players who have become a pillar despite having played one season for Zimnyama.

Pirates, who are last season’s champions of South Africa’s major league, Carling Knockout and MTN8, are in Spain where they are completing preparations to begin the campaign to defend these titles.

This team coached by Abdeslam Ouaddou has a series of matches with different teams at the Marbella Sports Center, Spain.

Last weekend, Pirates won 2-1 against Cadiz CF in Spain in a friendly match. The goals were scored by Moremi and Daniel Msendami. Msendami’s was built by the same Moremi who went with Bafana Bafana to the World Cup that wrapped up yesterday in Mexico, Canada and the United States of America (USA).

The Bucs won only in Cadiz, in the first with Cordoba tied 1-1. It will wrap up Spain’s tour by facing Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia tomorrow.

After the game, Moremi spoke to the media team traveling with Pirates in Spain about his happiness with the order of things he saw in the camp.

“What is clear is that we all understand that it is a holiday in Spain, so the job is new and no one is complaining because we all understand what we are doing,” said Moremi.

“The unity is leading in the camp which is important if you will remember that we have the yoke to defend the titles and we will add more if possible.

“What is interesting about this is that it paints a clear picture for us that all those connected with the team are ready to face any challenges that come with being a champion.

“It will be a difficult season but what we are doing as we are in Spain will also help us to cope with the difficulties.

“I’m happy with the hand I put in to win the second game but for Pirates, no player succeeds individually. The new players are showing signs of getting used to it quickly and that’s one of the spices we’ll need.”

Pirates returning to the Caf Champions League, will open the new Betway season by facing Milford FC on August 1 at 3.30 pm, at Orlando Amstel Arena, Soweto.
