He MAY come to his new team, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, which is overwhelmed with awards following the nomination in different categories at the Premier Soccer League Awards, the player who recently left Orlando Pirates, Relebohile Mofokeng.
This player who signed a four-year contract with this Belgian team, was one of the most prominent in the Premier Soccer League last season when the Blacks collected three trophies.
He played a major role in ending the Betway Premiership drought in Pirates where he scored 10 goals and had a hand in nine others. Magebula’s did not end there but also took the MTN8 title and the Carling Knockout title.
Although the Bafana Bafana coach from Belgium, Hugo Broos, believes that it will take months for Mofokeng to appear in the USG scheme, but it is still possible for him to join the big team.
Due to the prominence of Mofokeng last season, it was not surprising that his name was at the forefront of the major awards as yesterday the PSL released a list of those who did well last season.
Mofokeng is in a position to collect four awards as he has been nominated for the awards ofBetway Premiership Midfielder of the Season, Betway Premiership Young Player of the Season, Betway Player’s Player of the Season nePSL Footballer of the Season.
Mofokeng will claim three of the four awards with his former Pirates teammate, Oswin Appollis, who was also nominated for MTN8 Last Man Standing.
