ALTHOUGH things are in their favor by finishing at the top of Stream A’s log of Safa KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League, Mvoti FC’s coach, Doctor Mkhonza, makes it clear that they will not take Mzinto United lightly who they will play against in the season finale.
The voter sitting at the top of the log with 56 points, needing a point in the last game of the 2025/26 season, will face Minzo at King Edward Park, Greytown, on Saturday at 3 pm.
Njampela, who are in second place on the log with 53 points, need to win their season-ending match against Hellenic this Saturday at 3 pm, at Mthunzini Sports Field, Mthunzini, and pray that Mvoti will be defeated by Mzinto.
Mzinto is at the tail end of Stream A’s log, there is no more to play for as it has been axed in this section.
“We will not take Mzinto lightly because they are the team at the bottom of the log because that could put us in trouble. We will take it as an important game that we must fight to win,” said Mkhonza who trains in collaboration with Ayanda “Cobra” Dlamini.
“The way we have played this season since it started until now as we have finished the season, gives us hope for the Play-Offs.
“All that is left is for us to finish the work we have started properly, and avoid being disappointed in the end by doing it this way.”
Mvoti, who has lost once this season, has the chance to play a qualifying match for the team that will represent KwaZulu-Natal in the ABC Motsepe League National Play-Offs.
The teams that will win in Stream A and Stream B, will play the qualifying finals that will represent the province in the national qualifiers to move up to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
In Stream B, he heats up the rivalry between Mkhambathi FC and Singa United, who were separated by only two points.
Mkhambathi still leads Stream B with 52 points, followed by Msinga in second place with 50.
Mkhambathi needs three points in their last game against FC Drakensberg, at Lambert Park, Mnambithi, on Saturday at 3 pm.
Msinga also desperately needs points in the final match against KwaMashu Durban Knights on Saturday at 3 pm, at Mzisho Stadium, Msinga.
