Kaizer Chiefs defender, Given Msimango, is BELIEVED that their recent form will help them in the highly anticipated match of the Soweto home team against Orlando Pirates.

These giants of South African football will meet at FNB Stadium on Sunday at 3 pm.

This game will come with pressure unlike other games for both teams.

Pirates are locked in a battle with Mamelodi Sundowns in the race for the Betway Premiership title and Chiefs will be looking at how close they can get to these teams since they are in third place on the log.

When these teams met in February, Pirates won 3-0. However, Msimango hopes that winning five of the last six league games means that they will come to the next round as a different team.

“I think that not sticking to our plans even when things are not going well is what helped us. Even if we were accused of not doing well, we have not moved away from who we are as Kaizer Chiefs players,” said Msimango.

“It is beginning to be seen now that consistency is working, and that changing the way of thinking is playing a big role. I highly commend my colleagues for that and I hope we continue.”

Msimango was not there when they were beaten by Pirates with a 3-0 but these days coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef have played him with Aden McCarthy at center back. The reason why this player missed the jersey in other games is that he was injured.

“I’m very happy to be back and I thank God for that. I’ve been out of action for a year due to injury. I’m happy to be back in the team, to make a difference,” he continued.

“It was not easy, but there were many who supported me in the team and outside. As a player, I know that injuries are part of life. The most important thing is to learn to deal with situations, focus on moving forward,” he concluded.
