The police in Walmer in the Eastern Cape have launched a search after four young people were shot dead on Friday morning.
According to the police, the incident took place at 00:34 in Airport Valley.
“Police officers responded to a complaint about a shooting and were called to a residence in Ndlovu Street. The complainant waited for them outside the premises and took them to a corrugated iron house on the property,” says Brig. Nobuntu Gantana, Eastern Cape police spokesperson.
Officers found the bodies of four victims in the sinkhole. All four were shot dead.
The victims were identified as two brothers aged 20 and 22 and two women aged 19 and 17.
The 22-year-old man had a gunshot wound on the right side of his face and the 20-year-old man had two gunshot wounds on the right side of his face.

“Both female victims had gunshot wounds to the head,” says Gantana.
The motive for the attack is still unknown and forms part of the investigation.
The person who reported the shooting told police he quickly left the premises to go to the store and upon his return discovered the bodies in the sinkhole.
