A suspect who injured himself while armed with explosives during a money robbery in the center of the city of Kranskop on Monday, April 13, 2026, was found collapsed in a car.
This man was found dead in a car used in crime on a dirt road near Tugela River, towards Nkandla on Tuesday, 14 April 2026.
A cash vehicle was seized in the afternoon and an undisclosed amount of money was taken and three security guards were reportedly robbed of their guns.
It is reported that four cars used by the suspects to escape were also hijacked.
The suspects also fired at the police station during the robbery, however no police officer or member was injured.
A manhunt for the other suspects, believed to be at least 12, is ongoing.
