It is worrisome about the increase in cases of abuse of women and children, committed by men, especially those who are friends with prostitutes.

This is what writer Lungile Dlamini says, narrating It is a country in his new book titled, There Are Young Men Out Hererevealed that it is his way of using art to condemn gender-based violence.

Lungile revealed that this book, which he started selling in December last year, is his second book as the first book was discontinued, saying: And Give Us This Day, Our Daily Hopeswhich came out in 2024, he was even nominated for it at the South African Literary Awards, in the category of First Time Published Author.

“I wrote this one to clearly show how and to what extent the incidents of abuse of women, being tortured by people close to them who should be the ones protecting them, disturbs the society,” he said.

Continuing, he said the book tells the story of a prominent actor called Mandlenkosi Ngubane, who grew up during apartheid, and when he returned home to live with his family, he began to show acts of violence to his children and his wife, which went as far as deciding to kill her.

“I clearly state that not speaking properly about situations that bother you, has a negative impact on the people you love, who you must protect and make sure they stay healthy,” he said.

He revealed that in this book, he revealed the dangers of kidney disease using the research he has done with the aim of showing how dangerous it is and what methods people can use to protect themselves from it, and stop its progression.

Lungile Dlamini from Mnambithi, in the center of KwaZulu-Natal, said that currently this book, which has 239 pages and is published by Live The Penny Life Publishers, is still available to him for only R230. He pointed out that plans are still underway for it to be available in various stores and libraries in the country.
