HE WAS ARRESTED for trying to kill his brother, a gang member, West, who is said to have been killed by the police at Ntuzuma station, after trying to shoot them.
In this incident which is said to have happened in the early hours of the morning, this 22-year-old man died.
The source ofOf this country who knows the origin of the matter, said the deceased had been picked up by the police on Saturday for the crime of trying to kill his brother.
“The police arrested him in Ntuzuma, for the crime he committed there,” said the source.
Another source who is well aware of the matter said that three policemen, of which there were two women and one man, were attacked by the deceased when he took his thumbs from the cell.
“Suddenly, he attacked them. He took the gun of one police officer, and that was how he gained power,” said the source.
He went on to say that that’s when he was able to take away the keys, and locked them in the cell,” he said.
He said he tried to shoot at the police, but the door of the cell was made of metal.
He revealed that he was eventually defeated by the police who entered the cell using invisible tunnels in the roof.
“He had been fighting since Saturday when he was arrested,” said the source.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, confirmed the incident, saying that the deceased was shot by the police, who killed him after he tried to kill them.
“The deceased was arrested on Saturday for attempted murder. He was shot by the police, who killed him after he tried to kill them in the prison cell yesterday morning,” said Netshiunda.
Explaining in detail what he found in the province, he said two police officers were in custody, busy with what to do if the suspect was charged.
He said that suddenly, the suspect overpowered them, started beating them, and took the key to the main door.
“He was not able to call others for help. The police who were not wearing uniforms came to rescue them,” said Netshiunda.
He said the suspect took away the gun from one of them, then shot and locked them in the cell.
“He found a way to evade skillfully, while he continued to shoot. This situation continued for several minutes before other police teams arrived and were able to surround him,” said Netshiunda.
He confirmed that in this incident, two police officers, a woman and a man, were injured.
He pointed out that all the policemen who were besieged by the deceased will stop working for a while, while the counseling program is going on.
