Crowds of people are expected to attend the funeral service for the King of Mathulini, King Phathisizwe Philbert Luthuli (64).

It turns out that the king fell to the ground on Monday around 8 pm. This news appears to have shocked the community of Mnini, Mgababa.

The deceased’s brother, Mr. Bhekuzalo Luthuli, confirmed that the king will be buried on Sunday.

He said his service will be held at the Mnini Primary school sports field. He said it will be planted in his home in Mgababa.

He said they were expecting a large number of people to come to the service to accompany the king because he was known to many people.

He said that is why they rented a tent that can accommodate approximately two thousand people.

”We are expecting many people to come to the king’s service. We think they will be coming from different parts of the country,” he said.

He said that anyone who feels interested in accompanying it is welcome to do so.

He pointed out that since the king bowed down, words of condolence have been pouring in and many people are coming to his house to cry for him.

That alone, he said, is very grateful and reassures them as the family of the deceased. He said they are grateful to the whole nation of the king for showing support to the family during this difficult time.

He also revealed that government officials have also stepped into the king’s premises to offer their condolences for the death of the family.

The Department of Governance and Cooperation and Indigenous Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal has expressed its condolences to the family. The king is said to have left behind more than 20 children and his wife, MaMsomi.

The chief of Magcino, Mathulini, who is also a member of the family, Mr. Msawakhe Luthuli, said that they were overwhelmed by the king’s obeisance.

He described the king as someone who loved his nation very much and always strived to see it develop in every way.

”The king would do anything to ensure that his nation prospers and makes progress. We have learned so much good from it. We are sure to die the one who called him by his journey in the world,” he said.

History reveals that the king has been leading the Mathulini nation for 38 years.
