The Amahle Benefits Scheme will focus on empowering young farmers, as it will celebrate its 19th anniversary next Saturday.

This was expressed by its founder, who is a famous businessman, Dr. Bahle Zondo in a speech he had withOf this country yesterday.

Zondo said that since there will be an event to celebrate the birth of this company at the Cecil Emmett Hall in Vryheid, he will introduce new programs to help the communities, and also reveal how much he plans to fund them.

He said that when Amahle founded it, the idea was to help people with funerals at low prices, but he also saw the need to bring other help to people while they were still alive.

“This is where other wings such as BZ Farming, the Dr Bahle Zondo Foundation and the Bursary Scheme came into being,” said Zondo.

He said that in relation to BZ Farming, he helps rural people to grow in agriculture, while the Bursary Scheme supports students with scholarships to study at universities, and the Dr. Bahle Zondo Foundation makes various contributions to the community.

He said that what is in his heart is agriculture as the problem of hunger in South Africa continues.

“Encouraging people to plant and sell as well as kicking the cat out of the oven is important because food is expensive, poor people do not have enough money to buy food,” said Zondo.

He said that one thing he has noticed in the past years is that the government is returning land to the people so that they can build farms, but there is a lack of understanding of how they do this to make it successful.

“This is where we intervene and train them in all stages of agriculture, including planting up to the stage where we find a market for them to sell their products,” he said.

He pointed out that they have sponsored more than 30 cooperatives, some of which have become fully independent. He concluded that in addition to helping farmers, they also help those who raise animals such as goats.
