TWO bulls have been arrested with King Simphiwe Erick Zuma, who want to plead guilty to murdering former DA councilor in Mngeni Municipality, Mr. Nhlalayenza Ndlovu.

The second suspect, Mr. Khayelihle Shabalala, stated that he also wants to plead guilty.

This became clear when Shabalala appeared briefly together with his co-accused at the District Court in Pietermaritzburg, on Friday.

The bull who is said to have plotted to kill Ndlovu is in prison, Thabo Dion Mathonsi Chonco, who revealed that he will plead guilty to killing Ndlovu.

Another suspect in the case, Mr. Zwelithini Buthelezi, turned state witness.

This means that the suspects who continue to deny the crime are King Zuma and Mr. Thobani Masobho Hlongwa.

Ndlovu, a relative of King Zuma, was killed in front of his family in 2023.

Ndlovu is said to have been killed for protesting against the theft of electricity and the sale of municipal land.

The case has been adjourned to March 13 this year, when Shabalala and Chonco are expected to formally plead guilty.

On this day, the media’s request to record the trial will also be heard.

The State and the defendants’ lawyers said they would respond on March 13 to the media’s request to record the trial.

When the case was heard at Howick Magistrates’ Court, the media were only allowed to record when the suspects entered or left the court.

Since the case has been transferred to the district court, the media does not have the right to record or shoot the court proceedings.

Nkosi also appeared briefly in court this Friday where he faces two other murder charges.

It is charged with the murder of the former prime minister of the Nxamalala tribe, Mr. Qalokunye Zuma, and the murder of Mr. Xolani Ntombela/Ndlovu, who opposed the sale of municipal land in Mpophomeni.

In the case of the murder of Ntombela/Ndlovu, the King was arrested along with Chonco as well as Mr. Thembelani Mbatha.

Both cases were adjourned to March 13 this year.
