IMD AI Weather Forecast: Indian Meteorological Department has launched AI systems for weather forecasting. Of the two systems launched, one in particular has started as a pilot project in Uttar Pradesh. With the help of AI, now weather forecast can be given not only according to the district but also according to your area or farm within a radius of 1KM.

With the help of AI, accurate weather conditions will be known 10 days in advance.
1km Rainfall Prediction UP : Now IMD will predict through AI when there will be stormy rain in your area. In fact, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has launched new AI-based systems for India and has started a special pilot project for Uttar Pradesh. With their help, now the weather condition will be known not only according to the district, but also at the level of your farm and area.

The biggest advantage of this AI technology is that now accurate predictions of hyper-local i.e. very small scope will be possible. This transformation combines traditional meteorology with modern data and AI, allowing not only common citizens but also farmers and administration to be prepared for disasters.

Accurate prediction even within 1KM radius

The pilot project High Special Resolution Rainfall Forecast started for Uttar Pradesh can prove to be a revolutionary step. This system can predict rainfall within a radius of every 1 kilometer using AI technology, that too 10 days in advance.

This technology reduces 12.5 km of data to an ultra-high resolution level of 1 km through AI. For this, support has been taken from Doppler radar, satellite data and automatic weather stations. This will make it easier to identify waterlogging hotspots in cities like Noida, Ghaziabad and Lucknow and plan relief work in advance.(REF.)

boon for farmers

IMD has also launched Panchayat Mausam Seva, which will provide local weather information up to 4 weeks in advance to farmers in more than 3,000 sub-districts in 16 states. Now farmers will be able to take decisions related to sowing, irrigation and crop protection much earlier and accurately.

This information will not be limited to the website only, but it will be delivered directly to them through WhatsApp, SMS, Kisan Portal and display boards installed in vegetable markets.

Very helpful in disaster management

According to Union Minister Jitendra Singh, these new systems will be able to make predictions based on impact-based effects. It will not only tell whether there will be rain, but will also indicate where and how much its impact will be. According to reports, this will enable better management of drainage systems and in case of heavy rains, instead of a general alert, only people can be safely evacuated from the affected areas.
