Vinton Cerf: Will retire from Google at the age of 83, who is Vinton Cerf who said – AI agents will force – 83 years Vinton Cerf retiring from Google next week said AI agents would push tech companies back towards standardized protocols
Google VP, Chief Internet Evangelist Vinton Cerf is retiring next week. Their perspective on AI is very different. Winton believes that AI agents will force companies to create standard protocols. He does not consider English as the perfect language for communication between AI agents.
Vinton Cerf has been associated with Google for more than 20 years. He had joined the company at an early stage.
Google’s ‘Chief Internet Evangelist’, Vinton Cerf, will retire next week at the age of 83. He will leave his post. His career is being called the most influential career in the history of technology. His status in the world has been that of a person who is considered the ‘Father of the Internet’. A postage stamp has also been issued in his name. Vinton Cerf has been associated with Google for more than 20 years. He had joined the company at an early stage. He has seen technology move from telephones to phones, then smartphones, the internet and now AI. In a recent statement, Winton has said that AI agents will force companies to create a standard system by which all software can easily connect with each other. Let us know what this tech giant thinks on AI.
Internet was in everyone’s hands, but few people had the power of AI.
Vinton Cerf recently attended a conference where there was a lot of talk about AI. The discussion focused on the fact that modern AI models are limited to the hands of the rich and big companies, while the Internet was equal for everyone. On this, Vinton Cerf predicted – With the arrival of AI agents, tech companies will have to return to the same standard protocols, just as the protocols were created for tech companies.
AI agents are software that does all the work on its own and can coordinate with other software.
Vinton Cerf said that the agentic model of AI, in which many agents from different places will talk to each other, will force companies to create a standard system by which all software can easily connect with each other. If Winton’s point proves to be true, then the companies that work initially on creating protocols can have a deep impact on the market.
English is not the perfect language for AI
This point of Vinton is very important. At present, most AI models are trained on the English language. Because of this, people spend more tokens on speaking in Hindi, but Vinton Surf does not consider English as the perfect language for AI.
According to a report by Tech Crunch, the panel members at the conference believed that human language like English would be enough for AI agents to communicate with each other.
At the same time, Surf believes that English would not be the best option for this. He said that there is flexibility in this language, but there is also ambiguity. It is very important to have accuracy in the conversation between two AI agents. (ref.)
‘Remember that childhood game in which you used to whisper something in someone’s ear and by the time it reached 10 people, the message would completely change. If too many AI agents start talking to each other in human language, the situation can become quite scary. – Winton Surf
Creator of networking protocols
Vinton Cerf and his partner Robert Kahn are considered the creators of the networking protocols that created today’s Internet. In the early 1970s, Cerf and his colleagues developed TCP/IP. The company has not given any confirmation on his retirement from Google.
