The Western Cape police have expressed great concern after the incident of three murders in Gugulethu on Monday night.
The shooting happened around 8:22 p.m.
Three people, including a woman, were found with multiple gunshot wounds.
The provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Andrè Traut, said the shooting happened on Nontulo Street, New Cross.
“SAPS members responded to reports of a shooting in Nontulo Street, New Cross, where they found two bodies, a man and a woman, in the house, both with gunshot wounds to the head and upper body. The third man was found outside the yard with a gunshot wound to the head. The dead men are 33 and 46 years old,” said Traut.
At the moment, police do not know the cause of the attack but say it is now part of an ongoing investigation.
The matter has been referred to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit for investigation.
“Detectives from the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit have been assigned to this case and will follow all available leads quickly and diligently to ensure that those involved are arrested,” said Traut.
