Mzinyathi District Municipality has appointed a new manager led by Mayor Mrs. Thembisile Mchunu. The person elected to this position is Mr. Mlungisi Ntanzi who previously held the position.

Mrs Mchunu said that she has a lot of confidence in Ntanzi’s leadership that she will be able to do things the right way. He described this position as the backbone of the municipality’s operation.

”I have no doubt that Ntanzi will be able to do a good job in this position. The best thing is that he was already involved in it and that will enable him to continue with something he understands better,” he says.

He then urged all municipal employees to support Ntanzi so that he can continue to work efficiently and diligently.

Speaking after his appointment, Ntanzi said that his priority is to do everything possible with the aim of dealing directly with the issue of the water problem.

According to Ntanzi, he understands very well how much the people of this area want the water problem to be solved.

He emphasized that he wants to restore the reputation of this municipality by solving the problem of water shortage.

On Wednesday, Ntanzi and the Deputy Mayor of Mzinyathi, Ms Nothile Zungu, visited Mvoti Municipality to inspect the ongoing water supply work in KwaLatha, Mvoti.

The deputy mayor promised that it will only be a year after the work is completed, and the people of this area will be able to get tap water.
