The New Zealand national team has a history of disappointing the Proteas in major International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments.

New Zealand is the obstacle for the South team on the way to their first goal in the history of this organization’s games, if not for the test.

The success of this team coached by Shukri Conrad in the ongoing Super 8 World Cup matches in India and Sri Lanka, put them in the semi-finals where they will face New Zealand on Wednesday afternoon, in Kolkata, India.

The thrashing of India by the Proteas, who were known to be unbeaten at home when playing ICC tournaments, reminded those who follow this game of its dangers when everything comes together in one day.

Conrad’s, under the leadership of Aiden Markram, repeated that in the Super 8 by defeating the West Indies, who have a history of winning the world title twice in the T20.

Because of this progress of the Proteas, they went to Sunday’s match against Zimbabwe not needing much. However, he peeled it by five wickets after scoring 154/5. Zimbabwe complete on 153/7.

This game against New Zealand gives the Proteas the opportunity to return the sticks since in previous years, this team has contributed to the washing of South Africa’s jersey in the ICC competitions.

What is noticeable about these results is that in all the games, the Proteas are the ones who have been accused of playing for themselves.

In the 2011 ICC World Cup, the Proteas, who were determined to win their first ICC title, were knocked out by New Zealand in the quarterfinals. It was the same illness again in the 2019 tournament, at the same stage.

Last year in the ICC Champions Trophy, the Proteas were eliminated by New Zealand in the semi-final match, making it important for them to make it to Wednesday’s match.

Even among women, the Proteas have a history of being unexpectedly knocked out by New Zealand in major tournaments.

This semi-final match will give Conrad and his team the chance to take revenge on New Zealand, who they have played with in this ongoing competition, and they easily defeated them in the group stage.
