Preparations are underway for the Royalty Soapie Awards, which are expected to return next year after not being hosted last year due to various reasons.

These awards were established by Winnie Ntshaba who is an actress who has made a name for herself inGenerations: The Legacy and other games.

After the South African Film and Television Awards held at the weekend in Johannesburg, actors and those in the television industry are looking forward to it.

The spokesperson for the organizers, Simphiwe Majola, told Iof the country previously that 2025 was for reflection and reorganization.

“Instead of rushing to do something that will not be up to our standard, we have decided to take a break and prepare and strengthen the foundation. What is important for us is to make awards that show high quality, are reliable and have a positive impact, not to keep the case,” said Simphiwe.

Simphiwe was also called to ask about the preparations following the non-announcement of the nominees and the opening of voting last month as was said.

On social media it was said that people are waiting for March 14 but in the end nothing happened.

He said preparations are going well.

“The awards are scheduled for September and everything is being arranged in secret. The entries went well and the team is working on the next phase,” said Simphiwe.

He said later they will announce the date of the announcement of the nominees, sponsors and other information.

The annual Royalty Soapie Awards, if they happen, will be the eighth.

There are a total of 28 shows and this time the Outstanding Pan-African Show will also be presented.

Games in African countries outside of South Africa will be awarded.
