Seven crocodiles, which are thought to have escaped through a cut wire fence from a crocodile farm, were caught along the R40 near Barberton.

According to a Facebook post by Hi-Tech Barberton, eight crocodiles escaped, one of which died after being hit by a car.

This security company, Polsec and the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Board’s assistance helped secure the animals and prevent further risk to motorists and nearby communities.

The crocodiles are believed to be between 2.5 m and 3 m long.

This security company expressed its thanks to all involved teams that were called for their quick response and professionalism, which ensured the safety of the community as well as the animals.
