What are ‘Known Unknown Variable’ and ‘Known Unknown Variable’
Amit Dubey said- ‘Known unknown variable’ means that I have a data set and I know that there is this information in it, but I am not able to extract it. Then there are ‘unknown variables’ where I have a data set but I don’t know what might be found in it. Diseases can be predicted with the help of AI in ‘Known Unknown Variables’. For example, in the future AI will be able to detect potential diseases in advance because,
- He will know how far the virus will mutate and what symptoms will occur and what will happen after that. With this, cures for diseases can be found in advance.
What is ‘Unknown Unknown Variable’?
Explaining about ‘unknown unknown variables’ in AI, Amit said that this is when I don’t have the data set but I know what I want to find. Like- I have only a few percentage of this entire universe which we can explore. 45 light years… 45 billion light years. We have been able to explore only up to 45 billion light years. It talks further in ‘Unknown Unknown Variable’. With its help we can complete our search in a certain direction.
And ‘Unknown Unknown Variable’ i.e. predicting God
Amit told about the fourth and final ‘Unknown Unknown Variable’ of AI that this happens when neither I have the data set, nor do I know what I want to find. This is called ‘Predicting God’. AI can make this possible too. He said that quantum AI will help in this matter. We probably can’t achieve that with current AI, but maybe in the future. He said that no matter how much we use AI, use quantum, use modern science… there is nothing outside that is not inside.
