Ranatefetswe “Rena” Ramosala (41), Mrs. Zondo kuZalohe said he was 16 years old when he was attacked by this thief. She said to them that they found out because she was pregnant that her relative was sleeping with her.

“That incident left me pregnant at a young age, without enough knowledge or understanding of the situation I was in. I couldn’t tell my parents because the abuser said he was going to kill me. I even managed to open up after he left home, which means he knew I was pregnant because I was sick, I couldn’t tell my parents. After hearing that I was pregnant, my parents took measures to protect me, they took me to doctors, social workers and law enforcement agencies.”

“The law enforcement officers went to arrest the suspect but they came back when the child was two years old, saying that they came for the case of molesting me. The mother dismissed them because she said that this crime happened before the child was born, now she will be traumatized when it comes to the court,” she recounts the story of her grief.

“That led me to continue my life in the face of difficulties. I am depressed and mentally traumatized.”

Rena said that it didn’t end with this incident but she ended up being raped by other men who pretended to sympathize with her and wanted to rape her.

“On top of that, I didn’t let the pain of life stop me from achieving my dreams. Although it was difficult, I ended up finishing school and doing short courses. I grew up to be a person who is willing to pave the way for others, especially women who have been abused.”
