American company Anthropic has chosen India for testing its most secret AI tool Mythos. India is included in 15 countries in which this tool will be tested in the institutions associated with it. However, China has been kept out of it. Two expert opinions have emerged. Some say that this is India’s success while some are calling India a testing ground for the company.

Being a part of Project Glasswing with America is a big achievement for India.
India has achieved great success in the field of Artificial Intelligence. India has been included in the testing of American AI company Anthropic’s most secret and restricted cyber security model – Mythos. China has been kept out of it. According to the report of Times of India, the 15 countries that have been included in the project are official military or treaty allies of America i.e. Treaty Alliance, whereas India is the only country which is a part of this group despite not being bound by any treaty.

India becomes part of Project Glasswing

  • Being a part of Project Glasswing with America is a big achievement for India. This project has been started by Anthropic, whose aim is to find hidden bugs in the software used in the world before hackers can, so that the digital infrastructure can be protected from being hacked.
  • Regarding Mythos, it is said that its ability to work is much more than that of humans.
  • In testing itself, Mythos has discovered existing bugs in major operating systems and browsers.
  • It is claimed that flaws in software can be found using MYTHOS.
  • However, there is also a fear that with the help of mythos, hackers can find loopholes in the systems and hack them. (Ref.)

Mythos is not available to everyone

Considering the works of Mythos, it has been kept a complete secret. According to the report, this AI tool is limited only to governments, big tech companies and big financial institutions. Now India’s involvement in this has become important in many ways.

Which countries are involved in the testing of Mythos?

Apart from India, Mythos will be given to France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand to use. Except India, all these countries are treaty alliances of America. Because this is a matter related to national security, America has kept China out of this entire technology.

How did India get the place?

  • TOI report quoting experts have made important points regarding this decision. On one hand, experts believe that India has the largest software talent pool in the world. India’s digital payments, banking and telecom infrastructure is huge. The experience gained from here can be useful for the whole world.
  • At the same time, it is also being said on social media that Anthropic is using India as a testing ground. It will get real world data from India to strengthen its AI.

Indian talent in anthropic

  • According to the report, Indian talent in Anthropic, which creates Mythos, is at the top level.
  • Anthropic’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Rahul Patil is of Indian origin and is playing a big role in the development of Frontier AI.
  • The company has opened its second global office in the world after Tokyo in Bengaluru.
  • The company’s CEO Dario Amodei met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October last year to discuss the use of AI in various sectors.
  • Statistics show that the use of Claude Code among developers in the country has increased 5 times in recent months.
