The case against Tiffany Nicole Meek, 32, who is accused of killing her 11-year-old son, Jayden-Lee Meek, was adjourned in Palm Ridge Superior Court until March 25 for plea proceedings.

Meek is facing charges of murder, obstruction of justice, the crime of injury and attempt to defeat the legal process.

According to Magaboke Mohlatlole, spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Johannesburg, the postponement follows after the defense approached the state.

“The defense approached the state and indicated that the accused intended to plead guilty to some of the charges.”

Maroela Media previously reported that Jayden-Lee was last seen on 13 May 2025 when the school transport dropped him off at his home in Fleurhof. His mother reported him missing that evening. He was later found unconscious on the stairs of the block of flats where they lived, and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Blood was found on Jayden-Lee’s bed, his school clothes and his school bag. The state claims that Jayden-Lee was hit over the head with a blunt object and died as a result of head injuries.

It is further alleged that the accused later manipulated the scene in an attempt to mislead the authorities.

The case will appear again in Palm Ridge Superior Court on March 25 for plea proceedings.
