The vice president of the country, Mr. Paul Mashatile, has criticized the late arrival of ambulances in some areas which ends up with the dead bodies of those who were waiting to be taken to hospitals.

Mashatile said that it is not acceptable that there are people dying or that these vehicles are in short supply.

“We know that in some places people live far from the cities, so it is difficult for them to get help quickly. We know that there is a shortage, but people should not wait for a body to come out. It is very unacceptable that until the next day, people are still waiting to be taken to hospitals,” he said.

He said this while answering questions from members of Parliament yesterday, who complained about the deaths of people waiting for ambulances. Various incidents have been reported of people complaining about ambulances not arriving on time, and in some cases even people have died.

Mashatile said that they are addressing this problem so that ambulances can be increased so that people can use them as soon as possible. On the issue of the return of the land to its owners, he said that they do not turn away from the fact that the land must be returned to its owners.

“We are not ashamed and it is a war that we will continue to fight for the land to return to its owners. We have no problem working with the Boers, I hear that they are also complaining that they were robbed of the land by the British. But we say that the Boers themselves must answer for their sins of robbing black people of their land,” said Mashatile.

Mashatile lashed out at those who accused him of interfering so that his friends could benefit from the tenders.

He said that if there are members who suspect some of the black businessmen they get along with of committing crimes, they should file charges with the police.

“If you suspect that they are doing wrong, file charges against them. If there are relatives like my children who you suspect of doing wrong, file charges against them. I will not stop having friends because they are businessmen. Some of them I was arrested with, they go to businesses. I will continue and invite them when there is a speech by the president to the nation.”

He said corruption should not be blamed on black people who are businessmen.

“Black people are allowed to have businesses and be successful. We should not blame them for being rich because they are corrupt.”
