China once again demonstrated its strength in robotics. In fact, dozens of humanoid robots took part in the half marathon held on Sunday and not only completed the race by beating professional athletes but also broke the world record of half marathon. Experts are seeing this as China’s strength. At one time, Elon Musk himself has said that if anyone can compete with Tesla in the matter of robots, it is only China. After the results of the marathon, this seems to be proven true.
Completed the race in 1 hour
In last year’s race, the winning robot completed the race in 2 hours 40 minutes. This year, the Honor brand robot crossed the finish line in just 50 minutes 26 seconds. With this time this robot has also challenged humans. It is worth noting that this is 7 minutes less than the human world record of 57 minutes 31 seconds set by Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda. If seen in this way, this robot of Honor has broken the world record of half marathon by a distance of 7 minutes. It is also being seen as a demonstration of China’s strength in the field of robotics, which shows that robots are no longer just slow-moving toys but have become athletes with superhuman speed.(REF.)
Self-navigation was the biggest feature
The biggest feature seen in robots this year was self-navigation. Like last year, this time the robots were covering a distance of 21 kilometers not by remote control but by their own brain equipped with artificial intelligence. Apart from this, liquid cooling technology was also used to keep the robots cool during the race. The purpose of the race was clearly to test the strength and improvement of the robots.
The race was an example of China’s strength
Last year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk himself admitted that China is the only one that can compete with him in the humanoid robot market. Musk believed that China is expert in manufacturing and creating AI models. This race has proved him right to a great extent.
It is worth noting that recently in China’s Spring Festival Gala, robots from many startups like Unitree, Galbot, Noetix and MagicLab had shown their martial arts and fencing skills. According to the report, experts believe that robots which are able to complete marathon-like races on their own will be able to complete factories and construction work very well in the future.
