A 41-year-old suspect was arrested on Thursday, 19 March 2026 at the Springs Magistrate’s Court following the robbery of a cash vehicle that took place in Malahleni, Mpumalanga, on February 2026.
The suspect was arrested by members of the Hawk team that investigates organized crime in collaboration with the Nkangala District Flying Squad.
On the day of the incident, it is suspected that Izi Cash Africa Security was stopped by three suspects who were armed with a gun in Malahleni when they were going to load money into the machine (ATM). When it happened, a security guard was shot and killed, and another was seriously injured. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money, traveling in a VW Jetta and a VW Polo Sedan.
Police investigations led to this man on Thursday, he will appear at the Witbank Magistrates Court on Monday, 23 March 2026 where he will face charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit murder and immigration offences.
