On Monday, the DA announced the second group of mayoral candidates for municipalities right across the Western Cape.

Koos Steyn is the DA’s mayoral candidate for the Breede Valley municipality and Yves Blaauw is the blue party’s candidate in the Cederberg.

Dirk Kotzé is the DA’s choice in Mossel Bay and Marius Koen in Saldanha Bay.

Dr. Jacques du Toit is the DA’s mayoral candidate in Swellendam in the run-up to this year’s municipal election.

Roelof ‘Boffie’ Strydom is the DA’s choice in the West Coast district. Antoinette Steyn is this time the party’s mayoral candidate for the Cape Winelands District Municipality.

Tertuis Simmers, the DA’s leader in the Western Cape, said on Monday that these candidates are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work.

“In municipalities where we do not yet govern, these candidates offer residents a real chance to get the municipalities to work. In municipalities where we do govern, these candidates will strengthen our proven record of service delivery and build on it.”

Simmers insisted on Monday that the DA is the only party capable of creating jobs, providing basic services, eradicating corruption and protecting communities.

“These candidates are fully endorsed by the party and they are ready to engage with residents and deliver our offer of hope.”
