National police, the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape government have struck an agreement to get more boots on the ground in a bid to fight crime in the province. The signing of the memorandum comes at a critical time following the release of the national crime stats. The Western Cape consistently saw the sharpest increase in murders for the first half of the year.
